Best Days of The Bakken

  • The Bakken Museum
  • The Best Days of The Bakken is a celebration of summer and all of its wonders. Visitors will enjoy 5 glorious fays of free admission from July 22 – July 26, with plenty of special programming and fun for the whole family. This year, the theme for Best Days is STEAM. Throughout these Best Days, The Bakken will show off its best programs while partnering with community businesses and organizations for fun and educational activities. Come check out the new Green Energy Art Garden and a new Great Hall Exhibit featuring Electric Car Advertisements from the early 1900s.

    Thursday – Engineering

    Friday – Art

Twin Cities Carifest

  • For 21 years, Twin Cities CariFest has been the premier Caribbean Festival featuring Caribbean food, music, arts, crafts, and a traditional carnival parade with colorful costumes and dance. Held along the banks of the Mississippi River, you can have a front seat to the Minneapolis Aquatennial Target Fireworks. Twin Cities Carifest Parade kicks off at 4 pm

Midtown Phillips Festival

  • Stewart Park in Phillips Neighborhood
  • A family fun, multi-cultural festival in the one-of-the best neighborhoods in Minneapolis! Just three blocks NE from the Midtown Global Market and Midtown Exchange. The festival will feature two stages with music from Wain McFarlane, The Little Thunderbirds, and Chinelos. Activites include a children’s area featuring Como Park artifacts, carnival games, and a resource fair featuring local artist and community projects.

Global Smoothie Smackdown

  • Midtown Global Market
  • Midtown Global Market’s Smoothie Smackdown is an annual competition between restaurateurs at the Market. Samples from more than ten restaurants are available for a requested donation of $5. Donations from the event will benefit Horizons Unlimited Foodshelf at the Division of Indian Work. Visitors are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or make a cash donation to support the Food Shelf as well. This is an indoor event.

Plaza Presents! A Day of Music

  • Join us for an afternoon concert series featuring three musical bands throughout the afternoon on the Plaza lawn at Marquette Plaza's Richard & Annette Block Cancer Survivors Park. Hosted by Minneapolis Central Library and Marquette Plaza.

Target Fireworks
  • 6:00pm-10:00pm (CDT) Ical_event_icon
  • West River Parkway, along the Mississippi River
  • One of the largest annual firework shows in the country, the Target Fireworks will light up the Minneapolis sky at 10 pm with a spectacular pyrotechnic display in to Celebrate 75 Years of Aquatennial. In addition to the amazing firework show, enjoy pre-firework festivities starting at 6 pm.

    Target Fireworks Stage Musical Schedule:

    6 PM - Turpentine Wine

    7:15 PM - Ragtown

    9 PM - Grateful RED

    Tune into 96.3 K-TWIN FM for the live simulcast of The Fireworks.
