Ical_event_iconThe Salvation Army’s MOST Amazing Race presented by CenterPoint Energy
  • 9:00am cdt
  • Qualifier 10 a.m. at the University of Minnesota, Main race at 2:00 p.m. at the Stone Arch Bridge.

The Salvation Army's MOST Amazing Race presented by CenterPoint Energy is a cool event that takes teams all over Minneapolis on the way to the $5,000 finish line. 30 teams participate. 10 get in by being top fundraisers, 20 more arrive from the qualifier earlier in the day.

The main race starts at 2 p.m. at the Stone Arch Bridge and typically takes four to six hours to complete. Like the race on TV, participants work through a series of physical and mental challenges. This year's tasks are secret, but past challenges have included jumping from the high platform at the U of M Aquatic Center, singing the national anthem at Target Center, and downing a "wasabi bomb" at a local sushi restaurant. It's physical and mental and totally fun. Participants must complete a challenge to get a clue to the next one, and they can only use Metro Transit or their foot power to get to that location.. Teams finish at Stone Arch Bridge just in time for dinner and the Aquatennial fireworks. Besides the $5,000 grand prizes, other prizes are awarded to top fundraisers and finishers.

    Register your team here.
